Important Information from the Director

To aid in recording accurate times, secure your number on your LEFT TORSO so the scorer on your left can view it.  See the above picture.

Course:
Think high school track.  Start/Finish line is the same location.  Go north about 5.5 miles and turn.  There is an orange cone at the turn, painted arrows on the road, volunteers and a sign 100m prior to the turn.  Do NOT turn early.  Head south, past the S/F line.  Again, there is a cone, volunteers, a sign and painted road for the turn around.  Head back north to the S/F line.  That is one lap and 20k.  If you are doing the 40k, keep going for another lap.
Fairfield County has given us the left (inside lane) going north and south.  Please stay in that left lane.  EVEN IN  AND OUT OF THE TURNS.  There are cars using the right lane and if you go wide to make the turn, YOU run the risk of getting hit.  STAY IN THE LEFT LANE.
Registration:
If you registered as having a USA Cycling License, please bring it and present it.  If you do not have one, please purchase a one day license.  This protects you by covering you under the insurance.  If you don’t, you are NOT covered.
Please make sure you fill out and sign the correct waiver.  One is for those with a license and one is for those using a one day license.  Yes.  It actually matters!  I didn’t know it either.
Ok Ok  Start times.  I am getting there.
The start times idea is the 40k folks go first.  Hopefully we give them enough room that the 20k folks don’t catch them but not enough that they get back before all the 20k riders have started.  We will see if it works.
Please make note of your time.  Please be on time.  Please reconfirm your time when you pick up your chip Saturday morning.
Chips:  Low to the ground.  Chain stay is probably better than fork.  When you finish, as last time, please continue past the S/F line (this is important to avoid congestion where tired riders are going hard) to the turn .5 miles down the road on the right.  Your chip will be collected there.  (Another big thanks to Strictly Running for doing our timing!)
Finally (yes Start times….almost there), please say Thanks to the volunteers.  They make this thing work and I am very appreciative!
